We strive to give you a voice when it comes to developing and improving our company. This portal is where YOU, as an employee, introduce your innovative ideas.
We look forward to hearing our valued members’ creativity in order to improve as a team, increase efficiency, and achieve mutual growth.
Every company has its inefficiencies. Unfortunately, these are recognised, but not openly addressed by employees. The reason for this is that most employees do not feel that their ideas will be listened to, and thus they don’t speak up. This is why we introduced this platform.
We want to hear how you think we can improve!
Innovation isn’t limited to technological innovation. We are open to hearing your ideas for example on how to reduce paperwork, administrational effort, or optimize time-consuming tasks. The goal is to save time and resources in any realistic way.
You will submit your ideas anonymously based on your preference. Your ideas will be reviewed by Tentamus Management on an anonymously basis, rather than your direct supervisor or manager. As explained below, we ask you to identify yourself only in case your idea is selected for implementation (or as a winning idea in the Starter Campaign). Meaning, that in case Tentamus doesn’t approve an idea for implementation (or select it as winning idea in the Starter Campaign), nobody will ever know, who was the submitter of that idea.
Please refer to the cases below to see where and how these resources can be saved.
Sucessfully Implemented Cases
BAV INSTITUT, OFFENBURG, GER – IMPROVING SAMPLE STORAGE
The search time for samples for repeat orders was about 10 minutes at BAV, as BAV did not record the storage location of these samples. Hence BAV decided to also record in its IT system the location of each of its back-up sample. This way, when looking for a sample for a repeat order, BAV could quickly identify (by using a sample code) the sample and the corresponding storage location. This reduced the search time to 1 to 3 minutes.

QUALITY SERVICES INTERNATIONAL (QSI), BREMEN, GER – REDUCTION OF VESSELS
An analysis of the vessels used by QSI showed that 12 of 23 vessels represent 98.5% of the total use of vessels. Nonetheless the less frequent used 11 “special” vessels (which accounted for just 1.5% of total use) always needed to be kept in stock. Therefore QSI plans to replace at least 4 of the 11 special vessels with more commonly used vessels. The use of fewer vessels will free more storage space and capital associated with the purchase/stockkeeping of special vessels.

Automation of calculations based on ct-values exported by Applied Biosystems Sequence Detection Software (lifeprint)
I wrote code in R that imports .csv files exported by the Sequence Detection Software and
- automates calculations for single-point-calibration to give an estimation of mg/kg for all tested allergens (vaildated)
- automates delta-delta-ct-calculations (not yet validated)
Before we had to transfer the ct-values and control concentrations by hand to a calculation tool. This calculation tool could only manage one allergen at a time. The R Script saves time and minimizes the chance of mistakes during manual transfer of ct-values.

Develop an app or intranet Tentamus Group sharing space where all externalization testing needs are communicated and any Tentamus Company can candidate its lab to offer the service. The aim is to keep all services within the Group reducing externalization outside the Group....Growing together and keeping business and margin inside Tentamus Group
1864
My idea want to create, through digitalitazion, a way to share projects and communicate inside the tentamus group. The cornerstone of my idea is a website where authorized personnel of every lab has an username and password to enter and write question or share experience. That digital platform could be like a Tentamus blog's, where employees communicate through the website with a possibility also to share and fix problems.

Integrated logisitcs: an intranet or app were all sampling planning is tracked at country level across all business units. A single person selected as Country logistic coordinator would overview the planning of each entity (customers to visit/location, sampler involved/vehicle) and assign to each logistic employee the most efficient itinerary. The software itself could help with proposals for ideal routes, helping the coordinator in making decisions. All final routes approved are viewed not only in the intranet but also synchronized in outlook. This process would allow an efficient organization of travels, car and people utilization, saving in terms of time, fuel..
1860
Virtual Group Reception: customers and/or suppliers receive (or also Tentamus Employees from other locations) receive a QR code containing all information related to the appointment (date, hour, location, Tentamus employee to meet...). Once our customer or supplier will arrive in Tentamus he/she will scan the QR code and Tentamus employee will be informed directly by email or whatsapp message. No vistors' register or interaction with a reception employee will be necessary as the process is entirely digital and the entrance is automatically recorded virtually. This will reduce personnel costs. The process can be integrated with a social intranet channel, as a space were anyone can note events and visits occuring and include welcome messages to be viewed on a monotir at the main entrance in proximity to the QR code scan. This social intranet would also be a space used to exchange opinions, present new colleagues...These solutions can be studied and implemented with main IT partners already working on similar solutions

I’m invited plenary lecturer to two international symposiums. One in Panama the other in Spain. The one in Panama is asking us to make a small donation ( they are non-profit pharma symposia) and in exchange we can have our Tentamus logo shown on the their meeting and website plus the country of Panama will be advertising it in the WWW. Similarly but for profit symposia out of Europe has invited me as plenary lecturer and symposia chair to this society of Toxicology. We can advertise our name here too by small donation yo include our Tentamus logo. Through these publications we can get closer to Tentamus recognition globally. If you are interested then please contact me.

Idea: Tentamus Group Skill Sharing Platform (from employees to other employees of the Tentamus Group)
Employees in the company can voluntarily offer short online workshops/mini-courses about skills they would like to share, mainly based on their own experiences. This could be either online (live) or self-recorded and uploaded, depending on the topic and the preference of the person.
Additionally, the company can suggest helpful topics and see if someone would be interested in running a small workshop.
The courses/workshops can contain very different content, more specific ones and also general ones. They can also be addressed to different employee groups of the company but also in general to those who are interested in the topic. They can be run locally or international, depending on the topic.
This could either take place via a platform to manage and plan the workshops or alternatively the dates and topics (and maybe a link for e.g. teams for the workshop-meeting) get announced in the Tentamus newsletter/via e-mail.
Some examples:
- An Excel-couse with helpful tips for employees who have to work a lot with excel.
- A workshop for tips and tricks with the LIMS system.
- An other workshop idea would be about content such as health/well-being on the workplace.
- These workshops can also be more specific about some topics that consider only a specific department, work field or method.
We are such a big company and have worldwide so many employees. Everyone has their own set of skills and experiences. I think this is a great advantage and it would be great to share these skills and to learn from each other. It would help to improve the company as a whole and help each participant individually in their development as well.

Online forum Tentalink
A forum on the Tentamus SharePoint for exchange among the laboratories would solve many problems in a quick and cost-efficient way.
On this platform, Tentamus employees from all over the world can register and exchange information with each other.
Analytical problems can be discussed here or, for example, questions about equipment purchases can be discussed among themselves.
There could be posts like:
Who has had good experiences / who has had bad experiences?
Do you join forces when purchasing equipment in order to obtain higher discounts together?
Does anyone have a suitable device and can give it away?
My device is broken and I cannot analyse my samples. Can someone help out?
Can one lab give training to another? e.g. equipment training or automation.
Through the experience of other laboratories, a lot of time and money can be saved in case of problems.
Savings can also be expected through larger discounts or the exchange of unused equipment.
As a positive side effect, the Tentamus employees have the opportunity to get to know each other and the partner labs.
Those who know each other are more willing to help each other out in a quick and easy way.

Ticketing system or multi-channel assistance: create a system that allows you to create assistance tickets, mainly for customer requests in the after-sales phase. The system software could be useful for sorting issues by sector of interest, prioritizing, monitoring, and automating routine support tasks.
All emails received should then be recorded in a file, which allows you to respond directly to the various reports. all this would allow a faster and more punctual feedback to the customer, in addition to the internal monitoring of delays, criticalities and complaints.
1848
A internal video wiki or "youtube" style page (focused on the individual lab, though the idea could be expanded to all of tentamus for more general issues), for helping or trouble shooting issues that periodically come up.
For example, we are a small company and some technical expertise and facility knowledge is deposited in a few long time employees or high level chemists. A video tutorial showing how they might diagnoses and instrument issue, or do routine maintenance on an instrument (a check valve replacement on a uplc, changing a column on a gc/ms etc..) may save us time, educate and relive the burden off of a few select and important employees so as to not interrupt their own work flow.
1846
Sometimes, fixing the old problems is the best way to improve, before looking at new ideas
- The LIMS System is quite slow. Often it costs a lot of time to wait for it to process.
If this is due to the program, it would be helpful to focus on it's development. If this is due to slow hardware (RAM, CPU,... in the Laptops), it would be great to invest in an upgrade for those who have to work a lot with the system.
- Unfortunately IT requests take weeks, even for very important requests, because there is not enough capacity to process them earlier. It would be helpful to hire more IT employees.
1844
Create an online/presential health care service as TENTAGYM service around word where tentamus employee have free access to the facilities and everyone else can make account for the services.
This can include online health care support
Online lessons for health care service, importance of food safe.
Create and distribute Own Tenta-BRAND for dietary supplements as part of health care service.

Offer online personal shopping services
For example, it may consist of buying these products:
Clothing
Groceries
Gifts
Dry cleaning
Personal items that need the touch of a savvy shopper
Online shop with personal Tentamus/analytical/chemistry etc fun ideas for clothes.
1840
Creation of a common computer application for all the group's laboratories in which tests can be requested quickly and easily.
The application could be used internally by the group's laboratories for subcontracting, or by external clients.
It would include all the necessary for sampling and the codes for their identification and traceability in the system would be provided.
This request would go directly to the LIMS systems of the laboratories, saving us resources and processing and entry times.
1838
All signatures could be sign electronically with a certified electronic signature. Also documents for registration with authorities could be signed electronically, optimizing the workflow (no need to send/print multiople copies or chase someone for his signature) and reducing paper waste. Electronic signature is fairly cheap and available through private, recognized services in all Europe.
1836
1834
Introduce a MRL system which can:
1. Save time of checking MRL requirement of different countries.
2. Helping developing countries to control using crop protection chemicals excessively
3. Compare MRL of different markets.
4. Tools to attract interest of agricultural exporters.
5. Oversea samples sending follow-up
6. Knowledge management system
1832
An online and tablet/phone application when customers can check in real time the status of their sample. If the sample has arrived to the lab, if its in the entrance/registration area. The internal number (LIMS) that has given to the sample. When the sample started to be in the preparation/homogenisation area, as well the extraction or if has been added to the corresponding analytical devices. The measurement, reanalysis or reporting have to be included as well when sample is stored, archived, destroyed or any relevant information for the customer.
A tracking code by app where all interested customers can check their samples in real time. With this we demonstrate transparency and better customer-company relationship.

Optimize storage management of consumables and chemicals by implementing the tracing system "Zebra" in Lims2. The advantages are an overview of certificates, stock figures, input data and storage location in digital form as well as super-fast inventory and avoidance of unnecessary orders.
1828
'Tentamus app' (/QR code for departments/services ) to be '1-click' closer to digitalization.
1826
A great way to further grow together and help each other out would be a website on which labs can offer devices they do not need anymore. A device a laboratory do not have any need for anymore can be a device another laboratory is desperately looking for.
1824
Reducing the time for sterility release testing from at least 14-days to time and cost saving 1 to 2 days. "Same day results" as USP while all the other service companies still need 3 weeks.
1822
Let's Tentamus be one of the most innovative companies by using the blockchain to transparently and forgery-proof issueing GMP Certificates.

My idea is to create a single point of reference for regulatory updates that regulate test methods, such as ISO standards. Every year new updates come out and every laboratory of the group is required to buy the update and implement it. It would be nice to have a single reference office that checks regulatory updates and acts as a sharing for all the laboratories of the group operating in the same sector.
The purchase of the legislation would be borne by the Tentamus group only once, allowing excellent savings. In practical terms, for example: in March 2021 the UNI EN ISO 16140-3:2021 standard came into force and every laboratory of the group, operating in the field of Microbiology of the Food Chain was required to buy it (€110). Potentially the expense would be that of 110€ against 9900€, if we counted all the laboratories of the group that deal with microbiology of the food chain. This discourse can be extended to every sector. A unique "Resource Update Office” for groups of laboratories operating in the same sector could be created, that will take
care of distributing the update to all the managers of the same sector (e.g. food, clinical, etc.) interested. That allows all laboratories a considerable saving of time in the search for the update. In the last year, my laboratory spent several euros, with a job of a person who checks the updates of more than 200 rules, guidelines and regulations every two months. Now imagine all this money and all this time multiplied by all Tentamus group’s laboratories.
It would thus be possible to stay up to date, without the risk of losing anything new and it would be possible to take advantage of all the same resources. The requirement of accreditation bodies, such as Accredia, Cofrac, Ukas, to buy regulations on their own, would be respected, as the header of the document shows the name “Tentamus”, which we are all.
1818
My idea is to create a website and / or an application, in which the customer who wants a service or an analysis, can be guided through this site (where there are all the services of the Tentamus laboratories for each country) to choose the best option for him. Once the customer has chosen the analysis and the laboratory, proposed directly from the site, he will have the opportunity to see detailed video tutorials to take his own samples.
The customer enters his data on the site (which are transferred to the receiving laboratory) and can pay directly online. The site will automatically provide the label to be printed in order to send the sample via the courier. (Like Vinted)
The customer can download their results uploaded to the site through their account.
This idea can save laboratories a lot of time by avoiding sampling shipments from one laboratory to another. Also we can expand customers across the country.

Wikipedia articles about the different Tentamus companies
Since several years, Google displays short information cards next to the search results, depending on availability: an excerpt from a Wikipedia article, Google reviews, Google Maps position etc. Other search engines display similar help (Bing shows a Facebook profile, DuckDuckGo, Yahoo and Yandex display a Wikipedia excerpt), but with nearly 92% market share, Google is a clear leader (https://gs.statcounter.com/search-engine-market-share).
The English Wikipedia article about Tentamus mentions 80 Tentamus labs at December 2021 and displays a list of 60 laboratories. (The Tentamus.com page mentions 90 labs). The German, Italian and Dutch articles are even more outdated. None of the mentioned labs has a Wikipedia article. My idea is to publish short articles about the individual Tentamus labs. This should improve visibility not only to the outside but also within the group so that people can have a bit more in-depth information about the offered analyses than what is available on the Tentamus lab finder. A presentation of the unique strengths and selling points, a company history and links to their respective websites should both increase awareness and improve indexing bot traffic across the different websites.
Creating a Wikipedia article is free and relatively simple, the biggest issue is using a neutral tone so that the articles do not sound like advertisements, even though this is their primary purpose. The Italian Wikipedia article about Tentamus is an example of an advertising and can be used to avoid red flags (https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gruppo_Tentamus). Even so, the Wikipedia community usually provides advice on how to make the tone more neutral.

As a third party lab, we are very much dependent on other companies for samples. Some days are short, some days tends to get busier but only complain we have is regarding the schedule. If one day we make extra hour due to heavy load, next day we are asked to come in late to avoid overtime. Few of my coworkers have left the job due to this reason.
1810
The idea I came up with is to equip the laboratories with some sort of labeller that allows you to create sticky paper labels that you can apply on the laboratory equipment. I thought of this because as for now, we are forced to write down the identification number of the samples for quite a few times on, for example, test tubes. This can cause many problems such as the fact that this process is very time consuming, that the operator can potentially get distracted for any reason and write down the wrong number which will then continue to pass on as the analysis keeps going or that the ink can eventually get wiped causing the number to be illegible. All the problems listed above can be removed by making this purchase.

1802
My idea is to introduce a new employee training platform for IT related issues. E.g, how to connect a monitor, how to change signatures, etc. This can be achieved by building a new Sharepoint page and upload videos to it. For each video, there is a test for the employee where they can test if they understood everything. The tests can be created with Microsoft Forms and embeded on the Sharepoint page. If an employee finished a training test with full points, then they can pick up a sweet from the IT office.
The solution would be easy to implement and accessable by all Tentamus employees. This would improve the general IT knowledge of employees, which is still a big issue (especially for older generations) in the work environment. Employees would achive self confidence and department heads get better trained employees. Basic IT knowledge is a must-have in the modern working world.

New Idea
I work in a lab that utilizes the Tentamus LIMS (powered by Integris). My idea is to stop using this LIMS and use a modern software suite.
It is very apparent that the team responsible for leading and driving the development of our current LIMS does not fully comprehend or understand the needs of the lab, from micro-level issues like designing intuitive workflows for specific methods, or macro-level concerns, such as process management or serving specific KPIs that may lead to system or lab-wide improvements.
The LIMS development team is also hindered by the fact that this system cannot be edited at the code level. If there are issues, such as untranslated error messages, or limits to the user-interface, they cannot make that change because they would be over-written upon the next update provided by Integris, the actual designers of this software. Additionally, despite Integris showing off many useful tools and well-designed UIs and workspaces, our team doesn’t seem to have the ability to re-create and implement those tools. Example being connection to laboratory analytical balances directly to LIMS.
Lastly, LIMS is coded in JAVA and uses SQL as back-end. Both are very archaic and clunky. It’s been 20 years since either would be considered “modern” in terms of technology. Today we have many new options that make both design and user experiences way more streamlined. For example, the laboratory users could access their LIMS through a browser rather than through remote desktop.
In summary, fully abandon the current Integris LIMS system and hire leadership willing to work with new technologies and who understand what laboratory work entails.

Implementing new method of PLS- NIR or PLS-IR spectroscopy. Usable for all parameters with specific NIR/IR-absorptions, like fatty acids (un) satured, peroxids, ect.
In general a database with existing method is created, due normal routine analyzis of existing samples and an PLS-Model (Partial least Squares) is calculated. After finishing the method, only an IR/NIR run is needed and no evaluation of the results is nessesary.
This should safe about 90%+ of the evaluation time and some time in measurement-time, especially time consuming methods
I know, that Kirchhoff is already using this method for Iodin value and Omega-fatty acids -content.
Bruker Optics has already a software to use for this regard together with their spectrometers, OpusQuant.

Implementing change process with dedicated employees, which overlook the whole change process and validate the changes.
Changes of methods or similar customer relevant points, should be provided with a pdf, which can be send to customer for quicker respond times and better consistency.

What would you think
-> if sucessful processes or projects of Tentamus labs
- - - > would "automatically" find their way into other labs
- - - - - > where they could also be applied
saving time and money, and increasing probability of successful outcome, because of using best practices instead of starting from scratch.
I ticked "other" for Industry, Lab Service, Country and "Future Business", but my idea is also applicable for "Increased customer satisfaction", "growing togehter", "process/ressource and waste optimization" as it is not limited to a certain topic.
It is nothing new, just the establishment of PRODUCT, PROCESS or INNOVATION SPECIALISTS, however they will be named.
These people should spend a defined part of their working time on collecting successful projects from the Tentmus labs around the world and ensure the transfer, evaluation and implementation coordination in other labs.
They could be responsible for collecting ideas for a certain industry focusing on future business where specific industry and market knowledge is needed, or responsible for collecting ideas for tasks such as finance, marketing/sales, human ressource.
Key success factor would be the commitment of the Group, perhaps even implementing it into performance indicators of the local labs, passion of the specialists and enthusiasm to inspire others.
Let's give an example:
-> Waste reduction of e.g. lab material has been implemented successfully in a lab and turns out to have a certain percentage of savings in terms of money, waste and CO2 reduction
- - - > the lab informs the innovation specialist or he/she collects this successful project in a regular collective run (e.g. quarterly)
- - - - > the innovation specialist ranks this collected projects (e.g. quarterly) by savings potential and in accordance with the group's goals and then informs the other labs and evaluates feasibility with the labs.
- - - - - - > the labs where it makes sense implement the process within a defined time by using e.g. existing suppliers, existing contracts with a widened volume for better conditions... . By doing so, they can rely on already used best practices and further optimize, the next lab already uses an even improved implementation process.
Further examples:
- Customer surveys - easily share them and solely adapt them to specific industry or local needs
- Software systems in use - getting better financial conditions and sharing internal knowledge for training and problem handling
- communication tools - getting better financial conditions and share best use practices
- finance - best practice process flow to avoid late billing, reminders ...
I can only give you an example of my area of responsibility and guess that only with sharing software I need I could save about 1.000 Euros per year.
This is not much, but if I calculate the time needed for creating certain templates, e.g. I could well save up to 20% of my total working time.
It is all about sharing insights and striving for continuous improvement from both sides - the labs and the specialists.
This is already done by each lab I guess, but the impact could be multiplied by implementing institutionalized use of best practice sharing.
So what do you think?
I think it could be a supplement of lean representatives worlwide, the latter concentrating on improving processes, the first ensuring the roll out in other labs.

Centralization of the sending of invoices.
At our location, invoices are printed in-house and packaged in letters and stamped individually.
The effort for the employees in administration is relatively high, as each invoice has to be printed, fetched, folded and stamped.
In addition, the distances to the printer are quite long.
2 options for optimization:
1. harmonization within the Tentamus Group: one location sends all invoices centrally (similar to the dunning letters so far). This way, not every location has to provide the personnel resources for this.
2. outsourcing to service providers: services such as Inhouse (Deutsche Post) collect the post from companies, sort and stamp it and send it to mail centers. A contract for the entire Tentamus could have good condotions.
Advantage:
Personnel and hardware requirements at locations are minimized.
Distractions on the way to the printer are avoided.
Employees can concentrate on other work.
Simple but time-consuming work is eliminated.
Another step towards a paperless lab.

The effect on the EBIT shall take into consideration the revenue impacts (additional revenues generated as well as revenue lost due to the implementation) and cost impacts (additional costs and costs savings), which can be directly linked to the implementation of the idea and not to other factors. The gross-bonus however, shall be capped at one average income annually, defined by World Data Info (https://www.worlddata.info/average-income.php), of the country in which the Submitter is currently employed.
If the same idea was submitted by multiple Submitters within 24 hours and the idea led to a payment of a one-time bonus, the one-time bonus will be divided equally among the Submitters of the same idea. Further in the case of an submitted idea by multiple Submitters, the one-time bonus (which will be divided equally) shall be capped at one average income annually, defined by World Data Info (https://www.worlddata.info/average-income.php), of the country with the highest average income annually, in which at least one Submitter of the idea is currently employed.

** Disclaimer
Ideas which are submitted before the 14th of March 2021 will be automatically considered in the Starter Campaign, as follows:

The idea number of the top three ideas will be posted on this website within 3 weeks after the submission deadline of the campaign. The Submitter of the selected idea shall claim her or his ideas by clicking on “Mine” until the 30th of April 2021.
